No Doubt, it's the best writer available at this price.
BUT just to notify my friends
It's OEM & not the retail version.
So you won't get retail box, mounting screws, quick start guide & Driver CD.
Just the bare drive, nothing else included.

It is better than my old lg dvd writer, it comes with 2 software (power2go & E-green) and an option to update firmware update. Advantage of ASUS is that there after sale service (not that better still good). The drive is cheap and value for money.it can burn dvd-/+R with minimum 8x speed.
Overall good product go for it.
