This review is from: The Diary of a Young Girl (Paperback) Oh what to write the review About this Heart warming book ! I simply Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the Largest read non-fiction book after Holy Bible.After reading it I really admire Anne's courage that she has shown in most difficult times of WW2.She became my Favourite Girl I love her expressions in this book About life, hope,God and even Love.But the saddest part is she and her family were dragged out of their hiding and got killed miserably in German Nazi concentration camps except her father. In her dairy she says' Inspite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart' But her belief was brutally cut - short because she was a JEW. She represents the millions of Jews who are killed in the Holocaust.No wonder that She was elected as most Iconic Figure of 20th Century by TIMES. This review is from: The Diary of a Young Girl (Paperback) The book seems a bit old with rough pages and some typing mistakes but it's okay as I got it at reasonable price with good packaging.Anne's life was not at all easy and was full of ups & downs during hiding and she had described it all in her diary perfectly. she had been honest about her feelings and had got a good sense of humour as well. Her diary surely reflects a teenager's mentality but even grown ups can enjoy it without getting bored or may be they would get a better understanding about teenager emotions. What I found interesting is that even the girls from different countries are quite similar in their thoughts / feelings and behavior especially when they go through some typical physical and emotional changes. So thrilling !! Overall it was a great experience to know about a charming , naughty girl Anne. During her journey she makes you smile , laugh and turns you into tears. This review is from: The Diary of a Young Girl (Paperback) This is one of the most authentic document of the World War II, a great book, BUT this hindi translation ---O my God, I can not call this a genuine translation, since translation itself is a creative process, and this hindi translation is -its quite unreadable , Manjul Publishers have a good name but i suggest them they should get creative translators, who are able to understand not only the language but pursue the original spirit of the author whom they are translating. |
