Well well well, to everyone saying their i5 is slow, or windows 10 lags, or something like that about the boot time or in general, your (and mine till a few days ago) hdd is the problem, my laptop now boots up within 10 seconds and everything is ready to use as soon as it does. Click on that visual studio icon, opens in <3 sec. Click on chrome, start typing in the address bar :). Evo series delivers the best a SATA disk can, that̢۪s what defines it over the other SSDs on offer. IMPORTANTLY, The speeds offered by this m.2 are faaast and potent enough to keep your processor full even if it̢۪s an i7. If you go ahead and spend some more for nvme, you won̢۪t get any difference in performance(except maybe disk to disk transfer) because the processor becomes a bottleneck at those speeds and your ssd is literally waiting to push things into it. I think the nvme could be useful only if your processor is fast enough to compete with it.
Coming back to evo 860, go blindly to buy this thing... Read more

Now, performance is much better on my new HP Pavilion 14 laptop - 8th Gen i5/8gb RAM/1TB HDD. The only prob i faced was booting with SSD after cloning. Although 'Macrium Reflect' did a good job in cloning the HDD to SSD, booting into SSD didn't work as HP had made it sooo difficult such that even if you select SSD boot it boots into the old HDD. Looks like HP doesn't want the end user to change boot drives. Finally, disconnected the HDD and did a recovery install directly on SSD and reinstalled all the 3rd party apps. Its working fine now.
PS: Bought it for Rs.6390. I'm a prime customer and Amazon delivery was late. Took them 5 working days to deliver (Bangalore).

Purchased this few days back for my Hp Pavillion 8th Gen intel i5 Laptop. Never realized that my HDD was the reason for slow performance. After doing a little bit of research, found out that an SSD would bring the out the true performance. Samsung nailed it. The chip is pure performance. Easy to install, easy to clone HDD and done. now my laptop boots in 10 seconds. Earlier it was like nearly one minute by the time it boots and adjusts itself. But now it switches on so fast that you feel like it was never off.
