I had started reading fiction novels after getting my hands upon Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone as I had heard a lot about it from my friends who had read the same. I remember it was also one of the initial days in college and while an introduction session whosoever described their hobby as reading, on being asked which book they have read, everyone named “Five Point Someone”. Out of curiosity, I picked up the book and liked the fun in the story telling of Chetan Bhagat and read all his four books that had released by that time. And since then I have read around 500 books out of which 90% are by Indian authors. It is just a default setting in my reading habit that I compare all the fiction books with Chetan Bhagat’s initial books which were great combination and balance of storytelling and humour.

I am just done reading Chetan Bhagat’s latest release “The Girl In Room 105” which has released just today itself and along with office, I have managed to read 300+ pages in... Read more

I had thoughts in my mind even before I bought this book that how much would I rate it? After One Indian Girl, I had heard and read many negative reviews for CB. People were kept saying that he's just a random writer who likes to write about porn and sex. I too had this kind of experience with One Indian Girl. His last novel. It wasn't good and it totally lost the taste that I got from Three Mistakes of My Life, Half-Girlfriend, Revolution 2020 and Two States. They were my early reads when I was a beginner. BTW, CB is the reason why I started loving novels.

UNLOVE STORY! Muslim girl and Hindu boy love each other but their parents won't agree. They break up. Girl find another boy but boy still suffering to win her back. It sounds like a love story, no? So, ladies and gentlemen, it really isn't a love story. Still it has the message of what love is all about and never love someone too much. Don't get obsessed with people or things. About the story I would say it's a read that... Read more

Let me begin with a positive note. I have very high respect for Mr. Bhagat for his attempt at making India read but with this book I am sure he is not going to be successful. Besides poor language, the story line is very weak and I was expecting some inputs regarding Kashmir issue which would be helpful in making India realize the gravity of the problem but it̢۪s simply a very predictable story. Can̢۪t even categories it in the genre of Suspense as I was only turning the pages to prove my hunch. I guess he is a better columnist as I really enjoy his columns in Times where he effortlessly manages to make India read very complicated issues
